FUTURE TRENDS – A WAY TO LOOK AT GREEN POWER

It is clear when people look at all the “Green Power advertising” on TV that most firms in America have jumped on the bandwagon, but does that mean there will be millions of new “green” jobs?

WARNING: People should look carefully at where opportunities may actually develop for a lot of green positions will be “in-house” as firms change the way they produce their product. People who were making standard cars ten years ago are now making hybrids and ten years in the future will be making electric cars. There will not be an increase in auto workers – in fact, newer technology may mean less workers.

The increase in green jobs will come from the people “out-of-house” who come into the firm or home or public building with the new product or train the people on how to use the new products.. Don’t worry if you’re not an engineer – look for jobs that represent the new technology and look first at European and Asian products who need American sales and marketing staff.

Ten years ago a friend heard about a new, lower-cost light weight machine to help people who are going blind read books and magazines. It is not only a profitable job, but the perks include going to the plant in Belgium to review new products.
